After a short discussion on that page: http://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?id=83437
I create this topic to add few links for people that are interested by this subject.

Here is a very interesting article about Citroën in the USA, but in French.

Nice Spot! And now find the first one in a movie...

I actually got a mail from a US guy some days ago, who had imported a GSA from France to Southern California... remarkable too...

Have you seen the Question and answer:
Question & Answer Answered On

Q: hi. nice CXA and i hope it that it gets a good home. a nit- picking point to your description: CXA did not have to be federalized as they were imported (from CXA in Holland) fully compliant to US specs. The conversions were well thought out and of very high quality, as compared to the troublesome CINA- inported cars. Tell the next owner to give it the proper care, and it will last another 20 years with no problem. good luck, kenny Mar-06-07
A: Thanks for the correction Kenny!

They where actually converted in Holland

It is a Netherlands-based company, they still send French cars to USA and other countries: http://www.citroen-andre.com/showroomrecentsales.html

Very nice too, although it doesn't look much different from the European version. I guess it must be imported before US regulations about bumpers etc got introduced.

I don't understand the French plate upfront though, how did he got that?

A fake one maybe (or bought on Ebay, or send by someone that was in France, ...)

Us bumper started from 1974, so it is normal to find pre-1974 car with their original bumper as this R16, which only has side light (from 1968 only) and sealed beam headlights replacing original one

You can cross German car with fake German late at the front in the US...seems to be trendy to wear a plate from the car's birth country

And now find the first one in a movie...

According to this site there's one featured in Mo' Better Blues. But I can't confirm.

Edit: well.. at least there's a CX:

Nice Spot Tönz. I think it must be the CXA, in the clip..... There where several other CX's in US movies, but no CXA was spotted untill now...

The site you refer too is not right on all things:
- the movie 'The French Connection' driven by Gene Hackman;

There's no CX in that, it was released in 1971...long before the CX was launched....

I have added the rest of the movies from that page to the site, which were not already listed...

I uploaded the picture from Tönz and I renamed the "Citroën CXA" to "CXA CX"
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=94921
It was not sold as a Citroën. CXAuto was saying that the buyers should not worry about Citroën going off from the US marked as the cars "were CXA and not Citroën". In addition of that, on the rear and on documents only CXA is mentionned, not Citroën.
cf the photo that I posted above: http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8510/1987cxacx04ol7.jpg

I found this article in Car and Driver (April 1993) and thought I'd share it with you guys. It's about the Citroen XM. I'm surprised it gets pretty bad gas mileage from a 3.0L OHC V6 (15/21). I mean this car is roughly the same weight, but slightly smaller than a Ford Taurus and it has a 3.0L OHV V6 that gets 20/29.

Nice ! Thank you very much for these pages
About the consumption, it is possible. I remember that early XM had not a so good MPG. Do not forget that here such car is in the upper category, unlike what the Taurus is in USA, so I suppose that the fuel economy is not much a big problem.
Anyway, here the 2.0 version was much more common, and also the Diesel versions.

Maybe that's it. I did notice a luxury car tax on it. It is a rather attractive car. I wouldn't mind having one.
