A few days ago, while driving into my little belgian town, I saw a Ford Crown Victoria. All black, with California plates and a chromed search light near the driver's door. Like a police cruiser ! I didn't remember the plate number, unfortunately, but it was a standard issue, beginning with a 6.

Anyway, what was this car doing there !?

There are a few dealers, specialised in the import not just of used US Cars, also of old US Police Cars, School Buses and other unique American vehicles.

Since a while I'm checking their offers, because my next all-day-car shall be a former US Police SUV.

My wife would prefer a Ford Explorer, because she liked the rental car, we had on our California trip six years ago.

I would rather like an older SUV, without GPS, touchscreens and that electronic junk.
And before 2008, because then it's possible by the German law to keep the push bar at the front :banzai:

Spotted this rare Mitsubishi Raider yesterday while out. Haven't seen one in years.

I think the more unique aspect of it is the Oakland (soon to be Las Vegas) Raiders window sticker on the rear windshield.

I've told you people about the Pontiac Astre with tailfins in the past, haven't I?

A few days ago I saw a Brazilian Bug (at least I thought it was Brazilian)

It had the 1996+ Mexican Sedán City wheels, but the Mexican beetles we got here were always the basic version with the 1970s steelies. It was also painted an unusually bright white while all of the Mexican beetles imported here were always darker colors (except the Harlequin)

In the town where I'm going to school, there's a real RHD Mitsubishi Shogun. Couldn't take a photo because the bus was to fast...

It's quite interesting that I see the most interesting vehicles in my area in front of my home: Today it were a Trabant 601 Tramp (or modified ex-Kübel), golden Mazda MX-5, early Ford Mustang, VW Golf GTE and finally an Ural 375 D.

Some sightings from the last months:

Since the Abwrackprämie, I haven't seen one of these anymore until I saw one in Frankfurt last fall. Half a year later another one shows up:

Anteaters:

Not really that valuable today, but it caught my attention as it was in unusually good condition and had a period plate:

Tea with a chocolate chip cookie (or apple pie):

I photograph Golf IIs whenever I can. Here's my latest find, a 1988-89 GT Special:

E30 Touring:

And now for the absolute highlight of my week...
A Canadian-spec 2006 Mercedes B 200!
https://i.imgur.com/PwogUVc.jpg
Upon seeing the sidemarker, I immediately pressed X to doubt and checked the back. Sure enough, it was a B 200. But was the sidemarker in the right place and in the right shape? I got out my phone and checked. Sidemarker checked out too.

Sorry for the bad quality, I took the pic from across the street. My position was right under an open window with two ten-year-olds, who would've thought I was crazy photographing a plain B-Class.

If this Crown Vic came from a US car import dealer, I guess it would wear european plates, not a pair of standard californian ones.

@dsl: thanks!
The blokes in the Transit aren't clever - they didn't notice the aluminium scrap, I've put at the street.

This was a fire truck in its first life?
Not in UK, as it's LHD.

There has been som updates regarding the rules about converting cars into tractors. These tractors are mostly used by 15-17 year olds since you can drive it with a moped license. Some of the changes to the rules are that you don't need to use dual gearboxes anymore, it's enough to limit the car to 30 km/h with the vehicles control unit which means FWD cars can be used. You also don't need to cut it up as a pickup anymore.

Here is a 2008 Volvo V70 Classic I saw the other day:
