when i use the database, i always have to change the sort to importance/role on every page. could this be saved in the profile or cookie so it's stays set?

It was planned for the future, but as we started working on a new version of the site it was finally not added in the existing site.
So in the next version it will be possible (and even the default one most likely, but in an improved listing)

Will the new version arrive just in time for a '10th anniversary' of the site ?

Possible, we hope to finish it not too far in 2014
