I wouldn’t think that would be legal either. But, the owner would not care assuming he/she or they (if it were a married couple who owned it) is deceased.

That would be like me dying and someone (10, 20 or how ever many years later) found my vehicle setting in the garage. If the person took it, I would not know.

Removing the car would be easy as long as the transmission was not locked-up (gears froze into place from not working) If the transmission was still in working order, it could be placed in Neutral to allow the wheels to free-spin. The car has slack tyres, so either way; it would have to be pulled out.

Legally owning the car would be another matter. If I wanted the car, I would check to see if the owner had children or other family that are still living. If they agreed to sell the car or if they simply didn’t care and wanted to give the car away for free – that would be one way to own it.
