Aren't they supposed to be listed as 'International Harvester S-Series,' with International Harvester being the model name? I thought that's how those older models were known as.

The ones from 1987 on are "International S-Series." They were actually made at the same time as the 3600/3800/4700's that were around in the 1990's. Those made from 1978-1986 are considered "International Harvester S-Series."
