Speaking of Mks, I know I'm going to go off topic, but I was wondering why most Japanese models don't have Mks except for the Prius when most people commonly refer to the generations of each models.


It would create problems, because different markets around the world would mean different Mks.

Take the Toyota Supra. In North America, the current one is considered the Mk V, because their first one was the A40 Celica Supra, back in the late 1970s. In Europe, however, the current Supra would be the Mk IV, because their first one was the A60 Celica Supra in 1982.

What about Japan ? With the A40 and A60 sold locally as Celica XX, is the new Supra considered a Mk III there ?
