Whats the fastest car you've driven or what is the fastest you've ever gone in a car?

Fastest I ever went was around 80MPH in a 04' Chevrolet Venture LS.

As there is a 120 km/h speed limit (75 mph) on highways here, I never went much faster (well, maybe 130-140 :D) as I am afraid of being fined.

As passenger I already was in faster cars, e.g. 205 km/h (127 mph) in a Citroën XM or 190 km/h in Peugeot 106 Rallye.

Bummer, Go to Germany, then go to the Autobahn and rent a Enzo Ferrari. Someday, I will do that. Some day... Or, I'll just get a Scorpio or Tempo!

Renting a Ferrari is quite expensive

The fastest car I've driven is was a Chrysler Crossfire (which can do 150mph), although the fastest I've actually driven is 125mph, in my '95 Intrepid.

Save up then Or, Get a huge Excusion and drive as fast as you can. Actually,that sounds better.

fastest I ever driven personally was 200 km/h (125 mph) (on slovak highway in night - also 130 speed limit - whoops but it was only for a while) in my ex-girlfriend fathers (sic!) car Mitsubishi Galant V6

and fastest car I was in was my dads Jaguar XJR6 in which we made 230 km/h (143 mph) on Autobahn.

...as with antp ... there's a 70mph speed limit on UK motorways (I've not pushed it in my cars ..as there's too much cctv,speed camera's,police etc...)Fastest i've been is 80mph with my 442 ..but saying this an old pink Caddy sailed past me when I was doing this speed (..good luck to him.!)
...fastest i've been on the motorway ..in the 1980's ..was 110-115mph on my Moto-guzzi 850 motorcycle (..the scenery flashes by like on 'streethawk'.!! ) ...in built up area's the speed limit is 30mph ... I did do 75mph in my Buick Electra ..racing against a Ford capri mk.II ... and was also flashed by a speed camera (I didn't know one had been recently fitted.!!) ...anyway ..I was very worried for some time ..but as nothing was ever heard...I think the camera wasn't working yet ...so very lucky really.!!
Have done 80+mph on my bikes in city streets in the 80's.!
..Getting older now..and hopefully a little wiser ..so try my best to stick to the limits!

Fastest I've ever been for a small amount of time was around 200/210 km/h (by tach) on an Alfa 156 on an italian highway (we were 8 or 9 cars coming back from Varano de Melegari).
I sometimes hurry (if needed) around 160/170 on some very long, straight and desert bulgarian roads.

The fastest car I've ever driven (albeit just manouvering, sadly) was the speed world-breaking record Alfa 155 Q4 which you can see in this page:

You'd need a crane to get into and the b@tch dies below 3k rpm ... but she has an amazing roar!!

I've also read that there you have cameras that check that you do not pass too quickly from one point to another, to trap people that brake were the camera is but not on the other areas... Is it true?

Il yh a une douzaine d'années, 240 kmh en Honda 750 CBX, et sinon, 100 avec un Solex préparé pour le "Galet d'Or" (courses de VéloSolex). Je saurais pas dire lequel des deux était le plus impressionnant...

Oh, in Italy they are setting up a system called Tutor which monitors a determinate strech of highway ... when you enter takes a snapshot and registers the plate, and when you exit does the same. If the two shots are in a time that shows higher than the speed limit average, you'll face the fine ... if not the system discards the shots.
Generally they monitor a couple of kms of road.
Not 100% foolproof, but ...

That sucks. Here, we have less fancy speed traps. Just things that read how fast you are going. Usually, theres a squad car nearby ready for pursuit.
