All the little plastic pieces like the windshield and trim pieces are either broken off or bent. I guess I'll save it anyway, but it looks like crap
It was only a $10 model, not too much of a loss. Next time I visit the Renaissance Center in Detroit (GM's corperate headquarters, where I purchased the model), I might pick up another one. Maybe in bright red this time

Anyway, the Caprice and the NYPD Vic are both 1/24. The Cadillac is... well was 1/34. Not sure about the Vic taxi, but I know it's a smaller scale than the Caddy. Maybe something like 1/40 or so? I don't know much about which scales are normally used :ohwell:

Well, i think i like almost every car in my collection, if i chose them amongst others it is because i loved them, ill post random ones in here.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/6391/p1010017eo3.th.jpg

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/8052/p1010032dy6.th.jpg

And these two were the last ones i bought, i bought it in a shop in Madrid's train station the last time i went, i had been wanting the DS for a long while and i finally found it, and when i saw the Montecarlo SS i got it too because i love american cars so i thought it was fantastic, there were many other models i would have bought but they were just too expensive...

And well, that's a very small part of my entire car collection, Taxiguy, you should make the taxis of the world collection, you'd learn a lot with each car, i dont know if 1:43 is a common scale in the US though.

Maybe 1/43 then, as such black plastic base is common with these, and that scale is quite common outside US.

I do not have that recent Crown Victoria, but I have a 1995 one:

http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000628.jpg

And for the Caprice, I have these (still at 1/43, though that here the scale is maybe a little approximative)

http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000672.jpg
http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000667.jpg

1993 & 1995 models also exist in these series, all of them seem quite easy to find on ebay US, less easy to find in Europe.

Taxiguy, do they have other models available at the GM headquarters? I can try to find an online store for now, I guess.

Yeah, there was a store in there that had a whole bunch of model cars and car memorabilia. They have a whole mall type of thing on the ground floor with tons of stores and resturaunts, it's a pretty cool place. Plus you can visit the top floor of the building (72 stories) which as you can imagine has a great view. Have you ever been there? I would suggest visiting if you ever happen to be in downtown Detroit. Here are some pictures I took:

The entire complex

Also, they have a whole showcase of real cars on the ground floor too. Both new and classic, a must see for any car lover. You can even get inside some of the cars, but only new ones such as a Saturn Aura or a Buick LaCrosse. You can still look at the old ones though, and boy are they nice  . They even have some crazy concept cars from the 1950s and 1960s. Here are some pics I took there:

First taxiguy let me tell you that i envy you for having visited the GM building, what a great site, and those real cars own there oh my God, amazing, those Cadillacs oh dear...

And about the Crown Victoria i bought one once, quite cheap, an autoart one, i idnt even mind it was from a Canada police department, i just wanted one and got it, it was going to be a present for Christmas of 2007 and on January the sixh when i unpackeged it i realize it had a broken wheel that was dancing in the box, i was very angry and sad at the same time, that was the only Vic they had in the shop, i went there and changed it for another one, i saw the Expedition and i got it, you see :ohwell: well at least i got another rare model which is one of my favorites too, a Crown Vic is now in my to-buy list, so some day

Since I was a small school-boy, I've collected the 1:87-scale WIKING-cars. Some I've bought in toy-shops, but I'd preferred to get used ones on collecor-markets and -shops.

But in the early 90ies I've stopped with it, because they are getting more and more expensive. I still have a few hundred WIKING-cars in the plastic-cupboards, but since over 15 years, nothing new was added.

You can guess, what a model was my first WIKING-toy? Yes, a K 70, a red one, I got, when I was 3 years old, from a neighbour, who owned such a car in original. One time I thought. "A K 70 was you first toy-car, so a K 70 shall be your first real car." - so I did.

But I don't collect any K 70-toys! Maybe it sounds strange, but the only two K 70-toys, I own are that redt WIKING and a greenmetallic Majorette with a Streckeman-caravan. which I got, when I was 5 years old.

I've seen the big K 70-toy-collections of 4 of my friends, and I've seen, that I cannot hold on with them (without spending very much money).
So I decided to let them collect the toys, but I wanted to have the world's biggest collection of K 70-literature. This I've reached.

CCF- That's too bad about the CV model. In America they are literally everywhere, police and taxi models. You could go to any store that sells models and I garuntee you they would have a Crown Victoria of some kind. Here's a very nice CV taxi model on ebay if you're interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/FORD-CHECKER-CAB-TAXI-CROWN-DIECAST-1-18-YELLOW_W0QQitemZ190222775449QQihZ009QQcategoryZ223QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZ- ViewItem

Also, I would like to make a collection of taxis of the world and include one from every part of the world. Here is a list of taxi models I would like:

1. Toyota Crown Comfort or Nissan Cedric - Japan

2. Toyota Camry - Taiwan

3. Ford Falcon or Holden Commodore - Australia

4. Hyundai Sonta - Korea

5. Volkswagen Beetle - Mexico

6. Hindustan Ambassador - India

7. Toyota Corolla - Indonesia

8. Mercedes E-Class - Germany

9. Whatever this is: http://i.pbase.com/g3/36/640536/2/58051073.Taxi.jpg - Russia

10. Volkswagen Santana - China

Also, I would like a taxi from Spain or France, but I'm not sure what they use there. Maybe someone could help me out with that? Maybe a Skoda or something? Or were the first and second generation Seat Toledo used for taxis in Spain ever? I would like one of those if they were. Maybe they use Citroens or Peugots in France?

EEW taxiguy speaking of Seat Toledos and identifying them as first and second generation, am i dreaming?

Abotu taxis from Spain it dependes on the era, there are plenty Toledos on the road, specially in Madrid as taxis yet, also Skoda Octavias and superb, Seat Toledo of the third generation, those are the most common ones, as i said, specially on cities like MAdrid, in small towns and smaller cities like mine can be you may found any four door sedan model, that is for nowadays.

Seat 800 (extended version fo the eat 600) taxi from Bilbao, Bilbao its a city in the Basque Country.
http://cgi.ebay.es/SEAT-800-TAXI-BILBAO-SOLIDO-1-43_W0QQitemZ230253087215QQihZ013QQcategoryZ100119QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZV- iewItem

Another one but this time from Barcelona, dont forget that this yellow and black color is always for taxis from Argentina and Barcelona.
http://cgi.ebay.es/LA-FRAGONETA-SEAT-800-TAXI-DE-BARCELONA-1-43_W0QQitemZ380026108154QQihZ025QQcategoryZ100117QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZV- iewItem

A newer model Nissan Primera, also from Barcelona.
http://cgi.ebay.es/1-43-Nissan-Primera-Taxi-Barcelona-J-Collection_W0QQitemZ290230924956QQihZ019QQcategoryZ100119QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ- 1QQcmdZViewItem

Yet another 800 but from when they were black, nowadays Madrilian taxis are all white with a red stripe.
http://cgi.ebay.es/LA-FRAGONETA-SEAT-800-TAXI-DE-MADRID-1-43-SOLIDO_W0QQitemZ300223473970QQihZ020QQcategoryZ100117QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQc- mdZViewItem

Now a very nice model of a 1973 Seat 1430 with the modern color squeme of a Madrilian taxi.
http://cgi.ebay.es/LA-FRAGONETA-SEAT-1430-TAXI-DE-MADRID-1-43_W0QQitemZ300216126477QQihZ020QQcategoryZ100117QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZV- iewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

And this one that i also own, a nice Seat 1500 as a Barcelona taxi
http://cgi.ebay.es/TAXI-SEAT-1500-BARCELONA-1970_W0QQitemZ270234115680QQihZ017QQcategoryZ120285QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmd- ZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

Its a shame no others were or are made, though im not 100% sure about this, i think, that a spanish car toy brand that didnt last long made several Toledos 1, which is very rare to find, i think aside from the plane civil model they did whether a taxi or a police car, either way very rare, i'd like to get one but they are sooo difficult to find... and i want it the first gen toledo is a nice looking car.

Yeah, I'm talking about nowadays taxis.
So they use current Toledos as taxis? I hate the current generation ones, they're ugly. But as I said I like the older ones. Btw, you're surprised I know about Toledos? The only reason I know about them really is the US is going to be getting a version of the first generation Toledo badged as a Chery (Chinese car company) in 2010:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chery_A15

http://avtoavto.ru/LoadedImages/images/chery/chery-flagcloud_01.jpg

http://avtoavto.ru/LoadedImages/images/chery/chery-flagcloud_02.jpg

Anyway about the taxis of the world series I am planning on collecting some of them. In fact I just bought the 1998 Toyota Crown Comfort Tokyo taxi, the 1985 VW Beetle Mexico taxi, and the 1980 Hindatsu Ambassador India taxi on ebay a few hours ago. So I should be getting them in the mail sometime in the next week. I've been trying to find a list of all of them, but I can't. Do you know all of them? which ones do you have?
