They will definitely be making revisions before it is brought to this market, there's no doubt, i.e. stronger steel, more airbags, etc...
But I'm pretty sure it will happen. As quoted from wikipedia: "Chery has plans to export the vehicle to the United States within the next few years (2010); prices range from $7,300 to $12,500 USD."
And yes I know wikipedia can be outdated and/or inaccurate but that is not the only source I've heard about this from. In fact, this year, for the first time ever, Chinese car companies including Chery displayed their models at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (I went of course). I'm pretty sure we'll be getting some sort of Chinese POS model here within the next few years, albeit with safety revisions.
