Caught a brief glimpse of a Chevrolet Corsica 5-door today - I remember thinking: "that's one weird-looking Sierra... oh wait."

Looked out of my flat window just now and saw this parked below
- brand new Morgan Aero 8 (registered 3 days ago). Must be nice to have more money than taste. And 3 wipers.

Having 3 wipers is a common thing among weird vehicles

Some 60s UK convertibles had them for a time as a result of US requirements - E-Type Jag, MGB.

What requirement caused the need of three wipers? They could not cover enough surface with two due to the width/height ratio of the windscreen?
(I guess that these three-wipers-cars compensate for the one-wipers like the Citroën BX :D)

Something like that. There was a requirement to cover x% of the windscreen area (I don't know the number), and both the Jag and MG convertible windscreens were low (but wide). Their coupe twins had taller screens, so could meet the rules with the normal 2 wipers.

Looking a MGB's, it looks like they started with the 1969 model year. All the ones up to 1968 have two wipers.

I have seen a lot of rare ones over the past 2 weeks, here they are:
1987 Chevy Caprice Classic Coupé:
1980 Datsun 280zx:
Smokey & The Bandit inspired. And yes, that is all the smoke from the Santa Rosa fires in the picture.
1981 Datsun 280zx:
Second one that week.
Dodge Sportsman Royal:
Don't know the years for this one, but it looks early 1970s. It was parked across from the '81 Datsun.
1989 Acura Legend L:
I sent the picture of the '89 Legend to my Dad and he responded with this 1995 Legend LS Coupé:
Guess they are getting very popular agian.
1974 Ford Maverick (2RKT090):
1999 Buick Riviera:
My hunt for this one is finally over.
1959 Austin Healey Sprite:
Year is from the owner, and the license plate which said '1959BUG'
Unfortunately I missed a 1985-88 Chevy Suburban, a Mazda MX-3, a 1987-1991 Pontiac Bonneville and a 1987-1990 Acura Legend Coupé due to them not being in an easy spot for me to get a pic.

real rare thing is that the Chevy didn't got some horrible big wheels and exhaust big enough to let Santa Claus in or a dancing car conversion yet
Sportsman has a 1971-1973 grille but i'm not sure for the turn signal, there is no 1971 one in old car brochures and 1972-73 have clear turn signal.. only 1971 or it depends on trim level ?
nice little bug.. i like it

Just returned from 2 weeks on Orkney. Some sightings below. The local scrappie/recycling centre closed some months back, so there's a lot of stuff sitting around decaying gently instead of being cleared - mostly fairly boring 10 year old Astras, Mondeos, Vectras, Passats, Volvo estates etc, but the occasional 306, Mazda 6 and a few early Seat Leons and Audi 80s for variety.
1] What-is-it?? wreck seen in the corner of a stunning view from amazing fish restaurant on South Ronaldsay - almost the last building on Orkney before the land stops.

3] Rover 105R derelict for over 30 years - I remember it from way back when, but now reappeared in view as its resting place has been opened up by new housing

Hello @71taunus - good to know it's being revived - must be an interesting project sourcing the bits. Is it still on Orkney? Do you know anything about its history and whether it was originally supplied to the UK? Would be great if you can post any pictures as work progresses - we're enthusiastic car nerds on this site and lap up anything unusual with all the excitement of visitors to the Sandwick brewery.

Not pictured (i was too shy to picture them because they were parked on private property:

Nice captures! If you're familiar with the KRON4 news channel, Stanley Roberts does his People Behaving Badly segments (filmed around the Bay Area) on YouTube and I recently saw a 1987-91 Pontiac Bonneville in the background in one of those videos.
Good to see old cars getting some love up that way too.
