When I was younger my friends and I would buy cheap RWD Volvos to drift in the snow during the winter time. A friend had a few 340/360. At least one was with the variomatic but most were of the newer type with a regular gearbox but still on the rear axle. Fun little cars to drive only down side is that they are butugly

Someone in my year at school had a 340, they were rare even back then (2008) and the owner viewed it as a rare classic car.

Here it's completely the opposite; I see several of them every day.

About a year ago, my brother ordered one to replace my sister-in-law's Acura MDX, which had a lease expiring. It kept getting delayed because of the chip shortage. Tesla was putting the priority on the 3 and Y. They still needed another car, as my niece was starting school, so he ordered a 3 as well. That one came in in a few weeks, and they got an Audi Q5 to replace the Acura. He just got word a few weeks ago that the Model X they ordered was available. He was mulling over whether to keep the order or keep the Audi.

He let me drive the 3 about a month ago. It was definitely a different driving experience. It basically runs on one pedal, as you take your foot off the gas, it automatically brakes. He tried to set it up in autonomous mode for me, but I guess I'm too much of a control freak and kept overriding them. The acceleration of that car was outrageous, in Performance mode it goes from 0-60 in 3 seconds.

The one issue he had was they had their charger setup in their garage for the Model X, which charges at the front and the Model 3 charges at the back, so he has to back in the garage to charge it.

Got the same feeling when trying a BMW i3 at the Montréal Auto show a few years ago , its like the brake pedal is just there to brake faster or to get the brake lights on...

I did not told that to the BMW guy but i had the impression i was driving a luxury forklift truck ...

It reminds me the Chevrolet Volt, which had the opposite "issue".
I was surprised when testing it, when you release the throttle it did not slow down at all. I don't know if it was by default or configured like that by the previous driver, but luckily it can be modified: you can put it in some "eco" mode where it simulates engine braking by re-generating the battery. It makes it behaves more like a standard car then.

A friend of mine sent me this carrier, spotted in Cassino (not far from my town):

with a De Tomaso Deauville (not in good shape) on! :alarmclock117:
Wouldn't be surprised if this is linked to the transporter I spotted a few weeks ago..maybe they come from a private collection that has been sold.. :alarmclock117:

On the subject of love'em-or-hate'em Chinese luxury SUVs that are sold in Norway, but not necessarily in any other European countries, here's a NIO ES8 that I came across today:

Went to a car show today nearby and saw 4 different Mercury Milans on the drive home. Not sure if this is an omen or a sign of the apocalypse or whatever. Didn't think anyone could spot 4 of them within a mile of each other anywhere.

1st or 2nd gen ?

1st gen, and probably even among the first ones: I'm not sure if the Opel version was already available back then (I see it was released in 2011 vs 2010 for the Chevrolet).
It was at the Brussels auto salon, maybe the one from 2010 then.
