Seen last week, but sadly no pic to prove it : a US-spec Honda with a Hawaiian plate in Belgium ! It was in my area, not far from the SHAPE's airbase. Certainly an american serviceman who's just been posted in Belgium. But Hawaii !? Most of the time, the US plates I see are from Virginia or California.

In Western Canada you often can see Camper with a Yukon-registration. One company is located in Whitehorse, I just can't remember its name.

For the DVLA-checkers:
Is KM 57 TKF still valid?

Five minutes ago two gipsy-blokes went around here with a white Sprinter and picked up scrap metal.

The classy melody

was correct

Yes, Swedish interim plate, temporary plate used for import and export.
Also note the combination ZMB; the license plates have been issued in alphabetical order since 1973 meaning that we will run out of combinations sometimes this fall or winter. The new combinations will be ABC12A.

They don't follow Belgium on that one ? i.e. by switching to 123ABC then changing the system again shortly later by adding a number in front... and then changing one more time by using a letter instead of the number in front for all the special plates because these were "eating" combinations more quickly than the regular plates.

There was some proposals of different systems. This system will raise the combinations of license plates from 12,1 million to 39 million.

You have so many vehicles in Sweden? Or they simply didn't want to re-use old combinations like here? (I wonder why)

We have the same type of plates for everything from cars, trailers, mopeds to snowmobiles. It eats lots of combinations I'd guess. Do you have the same system for all type of vehicles?

Sure they reuse the combinations. My old 1964 Volvo PV 544 is a 2014 Volvo V40 now

Yes, previously they just reserved some of the sequences for some categories (Mxx & Wxx for bikes, Qxx & Uxx for trailers, TXx for taxis, Zxx for resellers, etc.)
Only temporary plates had a separate system.
But they were not re-using plates except when the owner transferred his plate to his new vehicle, so when they reached the end they had to use another numbering system.

Sweden does reuse old combinations. When I try to check a plate seen in a 1980s swedish film, most of the time, the plate has been reissued to another car in the 2000s or 2010s.
