No, i haven't. This is just really annoying. How can something so simple be so hard for me? How do i use this VLC, i have got it but i can't get it to take screenshots?

You get video playing in VLC? Just go to Video menu, then "Snapshot". You can also assign a shortcut to that function, in Settings -> Preferences -> check "Advanced" at bottom right, then in Interface > Hotkey you can set the key for it.
In "Video" item of the tree option of the window you can select the folder where captures go and select the format (JPEG if you do not want to have to convert PNG later for uploading it)
