A Metro 6R4 ! In full 1985-86 rally livery, but the 1983 Y-plate is strange, since the first prototype made its first appearance in 1984, with a launch date set for the next year.

So probably a fake 6R4 home-built on a normal MG Metro. 2098cc also very odd - 6R4 was 2991cc.

Or maybe the 6R4 started as an internal joke (1 April) at MG and the next year they unveiled it?

As you guys did guessed, this is not my pic . I was driving when i saw the tow truck it was waiting for his light to turn left. i got red light too but his lane was so long that my light turned green before i had the chance to have it close enough to get a pic

^ Wow. I can't imagine the upkeep that fire truck must require though to keep it nice like that.

Some cars I spotted during my walk in another part of town a few days ago. There are two I did not get to take pictures of due to potentially confrontational people nearby (a beat-up 1972 Ford Gran Torino coupe and a 1986 Toyota Corolla).

The unknown mid 50's one is a Buick, you can recognize them by the holes in the fender . But i don't know which one, except that its not a Roadmaster ( they have 4 holes instead of 3 ). Maybe a Century ?

The red car is a 1962 Plymouth Fury hardtop

The green and white one has the trademark Buick portholes

Gray one is a 1964 Chevelle Malibu

The one in the picture is a 1955 with three portholes therefore it can only be a Special. By the shape of the C-pillar we can see that it's a two-door hardtop coupé, known as a '2-Door 6-Passenger Riviera' in Buick language.

A complete identification would read: '1955 Buick Special 2-Door 6-Passenger Riviera model 46R'
A complete identification at IMCDb would look like this: '1955 Buick Special Rivera Coupe [46-R]' but I think it's wrong (Rivera is even a typo...)

I found a surviving K-car wagon (an Aries) recently. The same day I wish I had a dashcam, I passed a red Merkur XR4Ti on the road. Looked like a daily driver too.

saw Herbie today.... well, one of its numerous clones but it always bring me a smile when i see one . Even saw a 1998 New Beetle version once ( shortly after they came out )

Monday it was with a now rare friend too

To be honest, i always knew them as ' Coccinelle ' or Beetle . Before i got here i didn't even knew there was a Super Beetle...
