Yes, Canadian cars have kilometer guages instead of miles.
My digital dash in the Dodge can switch between the two at the push of a button

But are they like the ones on the US, miles in big and kilometres in small? or do they have the kilometres in big just like in (most of) Europe?

Original Canadian versions have European-style tachometers. I've seen that in hte cars of Canadian friends.
A point, which was very important for them as proud Canadians! Their 1977 GMC-van had also a sticker on the bumper "Made in Canada Fabrique au Canada", for sure with the Maple Leaf.
They had been shocked a bit, when I walked over the border to the USA -they lived just 200 meters away from the USA on a little peninsula with an US-exclave on the South end- and have bought for my parents an original rural US Mail-postbox for the garden-door.
"Oh, we never would do that, to mount this US-typical thing on our house. The neighbours could getting angry" No kidding, they have said this!
btw. this was 21 years ago. The postbox still hangs at my parent's garden-fence and is still in daily use.

Cars sold in Canada have larger Kilometre markings on the speedometer, and almost always have miles per hour as a smaller font.

Thanks, it was a small doubt i had

what speed limit do you have on freeways?
01/06/2009 @ 01:29:17: taxiguy: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
100 or 110 I think
01/06/2009 @ 04:36:15: IRT_BMT_IND: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
The speed limit on Canadian highways is 100 officially (and 130 unofficially)
01/06/2009 @ 09:45:35: antp: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
What's an "unofficial" speed limit? They do not arrest you under 130?
03/06/2009 @ 01:23:59: 93_Montero: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
I saw a Land Rover Defender 110 today in my town. Definitely a very rare vehicle to see here or in the US for that matter.
03/06/2009 @ 04:51:38: BlackIce_RS: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
Well, I used to go at least 120 Km/h on the highway and I've never had a ticket (...for speeding).
Mostly the limit is 100 Km/h, but it goes down to 90 in the Vancouver area, and up to 110 somewhere east of here. Hardly anyone slows down to 90, and I can't tell you how fast they go in 110 zones, because there's nobody there!
The Japanese imports around here are getting more esoteric, I've seen a Y32 Nissan Gloria, and a Suzuki LJ in the last few weeks. This is also the time of year all the old guys are bringing out their 'summer cars' (muscle cars, Corvettes, 911s). And the most impressive car I've seen in some time; a black Aston Martin DBS Volante passed me on the highway last week.
