I maxed my 850 Sport Coupé to 170 km/h but that was according to the speedometer...And yes that was scary as hell and I have only done it once.

Not a sighting per se but I've just been thumbing the classified section of a classic car magazine and saw a 1973 K70 for sale. It says same owner last 35 years.

Thanks for the information. Could you please sent me them by mail? Maybe theere are some freaks in my club, who could be interested.

Last week I saw a 1998+ Ford Crown Victoria lightly (but awfully) pimped, black & purple. Sad I could not take a pic of it, knowing how rare they are here
Here are few finds from my father, from past two months:
Oldsmobile, seems EU-specs despite the small license plate area. Note the added fog light for BE-specs
Seems to be a UK plate, but what is it actually? I can't find it in DVLA. I suppose that the I is a 1, I also tested with a 5 instead of the S...
Very short German plate on a car that I could not identify... It made me think to Jaguar XJS & Alfa-Romeo, but it is a US car I suppose?
A smart with two (Spanish) plates...
... because it is used as trailer
Abandoned Daihatsu F20 (or similar model) :

Actually you were right: the white car is a
US-spec Jaguar XJ-S.
The Audi's plate looks as if it might be MAKA 51 but that's not a possible UK number. You'd have to look at the tax disc in the front windscreen to find the real registration number. I tried MAK 851 and MAK 451 on Mycarcheck but it said that neither plate exists.

Thanks. If I saw the front of the Jaguar, I would have recognized it immediately I guess

This afternoon I found a 1979 Wagon Queen Family Truckster parked on the street near the Marina in San Francisco:

Wild taxiguy! Are you just visiting? I have family now in the Berkley area and for most of my life in Los Altos.

I've been living in Sunnyvale for three months now, but I'll be going back home to Michigan in September. Next June I'll be moving here permanently.

so I guess I will put these pics here because these are rare here in the US
This was just given to me it is a 1981 (same age as me) VW Rabbit Pickup LX
It has been sitting in this shed since it broke down in 1999 (needs a motor)
It has a horrible 'custom' rear bumper on it that will be coming off as soon as possible. I also have another buddy with a low-mileage Rabbit diesel that his wife wrecked and I may be able to get that for the motor.
Also since I don't think I have posted any pics of my Daihatsu (also very rare here in the US as only 4000 were imported) Here is a pic of it (with my Suzuki and Isuzu):

So if you want to keep the Caddy, let me know. I think, I can arrange something with the needed spare parts.
Such a Daihatsu Rocky (the name here) is a primitive, but solid car. My brother-in-law had one, when he has built his house. Good towing-capacity and it runs with vegetable-oil instead of Diesel.

Yesterday I saw -for the first time in my life- a Brilliance. Even a brand new 2010-car.

nice collection

@antp : Thanks
@ingo, I am definitely keeping the Caddy and once I get it to my garage and start looking it over closely, you will be hearing from me regarding parts ;), Do you know if this front bumper is factory or aftermarket (I haven't seen on with the raised bar like this one before)
as For My Daihatsu it was called Rocky here and only sold for 3 years (1990-91-92) We also got the Charade from 1988-1992. I think the vehicle you are referring to as the 'Rocky" over there is a larger but very similar vehicle (based on the Daihatsu Rugger) You should have gotten this car as the Daihatsu Feroza.

No idea bout trhe bumper. The part itself looks VW-ish, maybe the overrider was an aftersales market-part.
What an engine does it have? And what's broken there? I need the code of it to find out more.
To find annother engine shouldn't be a big problem, also not for you in the USA. All watercooled VW-engines are finally based on a few basics (sure: except the K 70-engine...) and were built millions of times.
As yours is a Diesel it's a bit more difficult in the Diesel-abstinent USA, but surely possible.
