@subzero: it's an Audi 100 [Typ44] not an Audi 80.
@t0nkatrcker: yesterday I've talked with a dealer for classic VW-parts. We need the details of the engine. It's possible, that we will have problems to find specific parts for your Caddy here, as injection and ignition were different than in Europe (due the Californian laws for the early 70ies up, many details were changed for the US-export), but we will try it. Are there active Rabbit/Caddy-clubs in the USA? Maybe that guys have their sources.

BMC ADO16, can be Austin, Morris or MG version, but hard to tell without a front view.

Mk.II (taillights); chrome strip on side suggests MG maybe.

Anyone knows where comes from this car? I'm not able to identify this plate...

I saw this Volkswagen in Wildwood, Florida with this decorative European plate. Good for Family Guy fans.
27/08/2010 @ 19:11:32: ingo: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
It's a decoration German-style plate "made in USA", available at eBay. The stickers are faked, too (illegal to use in Germany). This one has a registration-sticker from the country Niedersachsen (important for VW-freaks, as the VW-plants and so the VW-company-cars are located there).
The majority of these US-made "German" plates have a sticker with the federal eagle-symbol. On plates it's only in use for miltary plates ("Y" Bundeswehr, "X" NATO troops) and in the past for the oval export plates.

Yesterday I've seen, for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, a brand new Briliance BS6, now with a plate from Unna (UN).
Be aware, the Chinese are coming!
27/08/2010 @ 23:05:02: Sandie: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
We must be the only country in Europe not to have any Chinese makes available.
The Chinese MG is coming next year but will be made in Birmingham.

This is why I'm wondering about the 2 Brilliances, I have seen. AFAIK they cannot be brought in traffic here, because they have failed the Euro-crash-test. I've read, that the German traffic-authority has denied to give a general type-permission, and that you need a special technical TÜV-report for every single car.
Due that reason the import to Germany hadn't started. The importer, a private dealer (in Hamburg? ) couldn't sell the cars.
Same was with the "Landwind" some years ago. A handfull were imported, but also didn't get a type-permission for the registration.
Other Chinese cars I haven't seen here.

We don't have any Chinese models in Norway yet. But give it some years and we'll see.
Oh, btw. The very same Piazza I took a picture of a couple of weeks ago is put out for sale! Damn - if I just had my driver's licence, I'd definitely have bought it.

I saw Saturn VUE 1gen facelifted, but I could not take a pic of it
I was waiting at traffic light, I focused on the front badge (the logo with red background) which did not seem unusual to me, the time I realized it was something not sold around here it was already gone.

I saw an MG ZR Express Van yesterday. Pretty unusual even the Rover version is rare.

@ingo: I am so mad right now! Today I went with a truck and trailer to pick up the Caddy from the barn where it sits, The gentleman who gave it to me and I had already come to the agreement that he would keep the car until today as I was moving out of state and had to get not only all of my belongings (as well as my wifes and 3 children) but also the 3 cars that I currently own about 50 miles away to my new residence and wanted to get settled before I towed the VW here. Anyway I go back to the barn and it is empty

I go up to the house where the gentleman's wife answers and tells me that she sold the VW for Scrap !!!!

She apologized and said she was not aware of the deal that we had made, but I am still irate that the car is now gone!!

This is bad, but it happens. Hopefully the buyer will be a little bit intelligent and save some parts before putting it into the shredder. Some specific Caddy-parts are hard to find and not to get any more at VW, so the fans are very keen on them.

Are there any actual US-cars, which were made as RHD-versions? Yesterday, at our K 70-meeting nearby Amsterdam I've seen a quite new big Dodge Doublecab-Pick Up (RAM maybe? I don't know the models) with British plates as LHD-car.
And if I remember my last Scotland-tours and the trip to Dublin 10 days ago, I think, that all of the few US-cars, I've seen there, were LHD, also older or classic ones.
