This morning I saw a right hand drive Volvo C30 on the interstate here in Virginia. It still had the British registration plates on it with the paper Virginia Temporary Tags taped over the rear one. :alarmclock117:

Today I've been on this spare parts market: http://www.historicar.net/ Nothing spectacular, so not worth a longer way. The most sellers are well known from the other events. Anyways, it was not too far away, the weather was nice and I had a bit time to gossip with old acquaintances - and to make some pics. On the big markets, far away from home there's normally no time for that.

So I can present three pics for Sandie:

http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/7144/img0274g.th.jpg

A pic for rljuna2 (sorry, in the big hall it's always quite dark. With flash the pic was bad, but without not really better :ohwell:

http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/1166/img0285w.th.jpg

A pic for the DVLA-fans:

http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/5653/img0289wf.th.jpg

And a pic for dsl:

http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/8371/img0283wh.th.jpg

...because it's an Italian import  When I read this, I've immediately relized "Ah, this is the Mini, which was not assembled by Innocenti. dsl has said that!"

You've only posted a pic from a truck. :petrus:

Cheers Ingo! Some nice kit cars there.

I think the first one is a Moss Malvern, second is a T&J Hornet and in the last picture is surely a Spartan and I think a Dutton Leggera.

This is the only shot that I could get of the UK Volvo (first the guy was driving to slow, and then he just shot by me):
http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee436/gtommec/DSC00173.jpg

Then yesterday I went to the junkyaed to get some parts for my step mothers Explorer and I saw these maybe not really rare but they interested me:

This 1987 Chevrolet Nova CL was in surprisingly good condition save for the rust above the wheel arches, the paint was in otherwise good condition and the interior looked brand new! The upholstery looke like it had just rolled off of the show room floor.

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee436/gtommec/DSC00171.jpg

Then I saw this 1995 Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition, funny thing is that I just found one of these on the site last week and then i find this one:

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee436/gtommec/DSC00167.jpg

The Orvis interior looked nice in it's day especially for a Jeep:

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee436/gtommec/DSC00166.jpg

Then I saw this 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo with body colored cladding. I have hears of these but had never seen one, the story is that in 1998 Jeep was trying to use up the last of the ZJ parts to make way for the new WJ and made these Laredo's with the Limited interior and body cladding (I know all 98s were not this way though as I had a 'normal' 98 ZJ Laredo)

While in Buenos Aires I noticed that many of the buses and trucks have some sort of external (brake?) lines running to each wheel. Seemed to be mainly an Argentina thing. What are they / what's the reason for having them like that? Maybe Gomselmash knows.

Unfortunately I didn't take any good photo of them but here's an example via google images:

I think it's for a self-inflating tire system, or just a monitor of the air pressure.

^ that makes sense.

Chinese cars seemed very prevalent in Uruguay. Here a couple from the old city section of Colonia:

The Vauxhall is a Ten or Twelve, between 1939 and 1948. The Rover is a 45, not a 75. (Just saying)

The Orvis interior looked nice in it's day especially for a Jeep:

What did you mean?
24/10/2011 @ 20:36:34: ingo: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
The Ford is a 20 M (more chrome trims than a 17 M) P7b. It was not called Taunus.
24/10/2011 @ 20:38:53: ingo: interesting/funny/special cars sightings
German plates! :wow:

As from Bielefeld (BI), surely a British serviceman. At first he was a bit irritated, when I've honked, when I dove besides him. But than he realized it and smiled

Today I saw an Audi S6 with a Guernsey numberplate and a few seconds later a Dutton Phaeton.

Where was that taken? It is already not so common, but from the plate of the car in background/left it seems to be outside Europe :figti:
