When I think 'German film', the first thing that comes to mind is Werner Fassbinder's "Ali: Fear Eats the Soul". That's really not a good thing, as I absolutely hated that movie. The second thing that comes to mind is Das Boot, which I thought was great, so it evens out.

Hier im Forum, for allem in der IMCDB-Database "nebenan" sind Leute aus aller Herren Länder aktiv, da reicht die Aufteilung USA/Großbritannien nicht.

Sinnvoll wäre es, wenn der auch der deutschsprachige Titel genannt worden wäre. Nicht überall wurden die Titel übersetzt, insbesondere da nicht, wo mit Untertiteln gearbeitet wurde. M.E. wurde "Das Boot" immer so genannt und nicht "The Boat".

Yes, "Angst essen Seele auf" is an nerving social-intended film. I don't like it either - because we had to handle it in our German-lessons in school. And that with a teacher, I don't have liked.

I think, we must divide between well made, intellectual appealed high-class movies and movies, which are interested for us car-fans.

Mostly they aren't identical.
