Okay, you guys already obviously know well of my interest in trailers and towing. That I take notice of any high performance towing SUV or Pick-up truck. But there is a point where I draw the line.

I ran across this spy shot of the upcoming Dodge Ram Mega Cab Long Box. And while I think fondly of the Dodge Ram, this particular version is a tad bit silly. Its way, way too long. Could you imagine trying to tow a lengthy dual axel trailer with it, its pure crazy!
Take a look at it and see what you think ...

You see, size is not everywhere the most important thing.

Sure, you can tow a big trailer with that vehicle - but not inside of towns or villages. And probably easier in the USA than in the smaller Europe with the narrow, curvy country-roads.
Sure, i nthe last 30 years we had more and more wider contry-roads - but not everywhere.

I read about a company that made long box versions of the previous generation Mega Cab. Dodge didn't do it themselves because they weren't confident in the durability of the frame when extended to that length. I guess they took that market into account when designing the new generation.

The cab alone seems to have the length of a "normal" European/Asian hatchback :ddr555:

What a ridiculous idea...that's not to mention that pick-up trucks themselves are a ridiculous idea in this day and age. Please understand that most people that buy this truck, or any truck for that matter, will never use it to haul anything more than about 5000lbs, and they will probably never put anything in the bed. My 03 Jeep Liberty (Cherokee) can tow 5000 lbs, and it is vastly more maneuverable than this monster will be.
