I like that idea a lot, although I wonder if we would have issues with some users listing a vehicle as, for example, modified when it only has a custom grille or a few, minuscule aftermarket items. I can see the line being blurred at times.

It is difficult to draw the line there :ohwell:
Does changing the hubcaps count as modified?

Something that I would find useful is information on the film/TV series' country of origin and where filmed.

Me too, especially the filming location, quite useful when searching for something.

But isn't that part of the reason for which the IMDb link is provided? That's where I go to find that information.

The movies would also be indexed on IMCDb, for example maybe on the 'Statistics' page: "Movies by filming location". There are also many movies which have the country of origin on IMDb but not the filming location (or only partially listed). Displaying the filming location on each of these movie pages is helpful, it will also avoid the usual "where was it filmed?" question.

However, the most vital feature that the website needs is, in my opinon, a "Show replies to your posts" button, as mentioned before.

Tracking of comments will be added but I do not know yet if I'll be able to make that automatic without performance issue, or if I'll only do something where you can "bookmark" threads (well I'll probably do at least the latter one anyway).

Something that I would find useful is information on the film/TV series' country of origin and where filmed.

That is planned to be added

Would it be feasible to have a category box for what - if any - event is being depicted and year? Probably most useful for races/rallies, but could apply to Motor Shows, Concours displays (eg Monterey, Pebble beach), commemmoration runs (London-Brighton), Goodwood Festival of Speed etc. It would enable - for instance - all entries for the 1958 Le Mans 24 hours or 1992 Spanish Grand Prix or 1974 Monte Carlo rally to be pulled out in one search across all the films/programmes in which they appear. Would not apply for the vast majority of entries, but could be very useful research filter in specific cases. May need the ability to double enter for eg a 1958 Le Mans car on display at 2003 Pebble Beach.

Indeed it could maybe be interesting for a future addition.
We already have a lot of work on short/medium term though.

Suggestion for the title search feature: if an exact match exists, return that at the top of the results list. That would make it much easier to find short movie titles like "Ted" or "M"
:computer:

I could indeed.
For cases like that, the "exact" or "equal to" searches (from the search page) work better.

Oh yeah, I forgot you can search for movies on the Search page! Well it would still help newbies (or forgetful oldies like me).

I was wondering if on the home page, we could include a small "Trivia" or "Did You Know?" section. There are many random factoids that users (and people who own or worked on the vehicles depicted) have brought up in the past that would be pretty interesting for visitors.
28/01/2013 @ 00:12:42: antp: New features
yes, trivia is on the to do list

@ Antp:

there are some dead sites in the links section that maybe need to be removed:
- SAABs in films
- MovieRepliCars
- Volkswagens in Film and Video
- Famous Cars & More
- The Cadillac Database
- A40 Farina Club

The main page (imcdb.org/www.imcdb.org) does not have language flag right next to the "Home page". Somehow when I was doing some search via Google image list and wanted to see the imcdb page itself. I visited the page and it was in German page. Anyway make this story short, I used my favorites site and came up as German main page :boggled: I tried to logged in and still at the German language. Fortunately, when I visited at the Unidentified page the language flag appears right next to the "Home page". Immediately, I click the English flag and all is well

Can this be fixed?

Indeed, I must have accidentally removed something when I've put a different ad style on the home page than the other pages.
edit: done

I am testing the Google Chrome 64-bit version for Windows 7. Here is the result of using the smiley face position and italic scripting:
