Given the setting of the movie, I'm sort of 95% certain it's a Mazda 121 DA but I can't tell if it's a mazda 121 or a kia pride. Also similar to our imported ford festiva from the late 80's and early 90's.

I can't find any clips with this car getting hit from behind and spun around. after it gets hit in this shot (pic attached) there's a shot from the front with a good view of the front.

The movie is listed but, as you say, I remember well the front view shot you talked about. Maybe in future you or other user will can redo the movie adding the vehicle you say.
