From me you cannot expect anything about this topic. I'm notoriusly ill-reputed as a hyper-picky "Originalo-Fetischist"
The only un-original features, I accept at my K 70, is a clock with a seconds hands (used after April 1973. My car came on road at the 13th March 1973, so it's too old for that) and a Blaupunkt "Münster"-radio (but with VW-knobs and -bezel). The VW-radios had other names (see the sticker on the back) and not, as the "Münster", three FM-buttons.
Anyone thinking, that I'm a hyped-up eccentric, eeh?
Only one time I've pimped a car, a clunker, which I got for free. It was meant for scrapping, but then I've used it as daily driver, after I've crashed my "real" car. Unfortunately it ran only one summer (1994), until the engine died the overheat-death. But it was a big fun anyways, everyone was goggling to it - an every cop had the idea to control me... The best show I had on the International NSU-meeting in Holland. Noone had expected this as the ride of the chairman of the K 70-Club
Since yesterday my Vauxhall Vectra has an aftersales market trailer coupling, a German one, because British or other foreign makes aren't allowed. This was the only un-original, because not in military use, part, I've pimped my Bundeswehr-Omega with, too.
Oh, due my laziness, my Vectra has still annother original feature: the programming of the radio
