Very poorly designed car, the backseat is incredibly tiny, smaller than that of an Escort which is actually a smaller car. Did you know that they actually redegined the backs of the front seats to make them smaller in an attempt to increase rear passenger room?

Contour/Mondeo? I have no relations to that.
My former boss had one, the facelifted first version. I remember a businesstrip, we made in that car, whan it was brand new, just with 700 km on the clock.
I was disappointed, but I was mainly polite and have said my critics a bit hidden (o.k., my boss had known, that I hate Ford at all).
The A/C was blowing in my eyes, not much room inside, cheap made interior, very boring from inside and outside. A waste of money to buy such a car as new.

I only can tell a story about its predecessor, the Sierra. I was really shocked, when it came out, because of the ugly design and the amount of plastic everywhere. A real car has to have chrome-bumper for me, everything else is uninteresting.
The father of a boy in my class (we had been 12, 13 years old) had bought one of the first Sierras in our town. Because I dislike the design (still today), I have teased him very badly -and he was proud of his father's brand new car-, so much, that he started to cry and tried to beat me. But I was bigger. And a friend, who hated the Sierra, too, has helped me. So we had won the schoolyard-fight.

I had a Contour for a while. I've beat on it, and it just wouldn't die! Drove it hard for a year with a blown head gasket and pretty much abused it. I'm quite shocked how much abuse it took. I still dislike that car though.

On a good note, I'm proud of parallel parking and not hitting it. I was backing up in the Taurus. The Contour is so small that if I was square with it, I cannot see it in my mirrors.

A friend of mine had a dark green Mondeo Station Wagon back in the 90s. I believe it was already rotten to death when it was new... Quite impressive how it came up with a new trouble every other week. Finally, when that Mondeo thing got hit by a truck, we all happily danced and sung around my friend decided to buy a better car instead - and got a Ford Galaxy!!! :kiki:

Same colour, same model year, same options, same problems.
