Subject: Gobal Auto Index

Does anyone know what's happened to Global Auto Index? It's been saying "Internal Server Error" for over a month now. I switched to OpenDNS in case my ISP's DNS was just pointing to the wrong server, but I got the same thing. The website of parent company Global Auto Systems is still up, but the "latest news" is from January 31st. Perhaps Global Auto Systems has just gone out of business.

P.S. Are there any other sites that cover the same ground?

Looks like it's out of business. The website has been down for few months now, since nov/december I think. It's a shame because it was a useful tool for identifying cars for our database and it was faster to use than normal printed catalogs.

The site works fine for me

Yesterday evening it was not working for me (from home), and now it works (from work).
As I have the same ISP and so the same DNS server at home & at work, I guess that the site just came back?

This is weird. Now it's working again! I have visited the site now and then a few dozen times and it never worked.

I think that Global Auto Index must be under new ownership. The Info link under the banner points to "http://www.globalauto.co.hu/", but that now redirects to ceauto, a subscription news site about the car industry in central Europe which started up last September (look at the earliest entry on the blog).
