No. I am not that old. It was re-released due to the film 'Ghost'. At least it wasn't the song that followed it as number one

The only good thing about that song is the opening nicked from Bowie and Queen's 'Under Pressure'

Having scoured the album charts of the world for a decent song released on my birthday The Netherlands have come up trumps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zua9RlosehI&feature=fvst

I have been trying to find out what that song was ever since it was on The Simpsons.

15/10/2010 @ 00:58:26: Sandie: What was the number-one-hit at the day you were born?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spitting_Image

In 1986, the Spitting Image puppets had a number one hit in the UK charts with "The Chicken Song", parodying "Agadoo" by Black Lace – one of several parodies to have featured in the programme, mimicking moronic holiday songs with an annoyingly unforgettable tune and completely nonsensical lyrics. The Chicken Song hit number 1 in the charts for 3 weeks from 17 May 1986 – 3 June 1986 and VH1 US named it as one of the worst number 1 nominations.

I have to say Final Countdown is a favourite of mine.

Nothing wrong with that.
24/05/2015 @ 02:51:05: night cub: What was the number-one-hit at the day you were born?
The year I was born, there were a lot a great number one hits; I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Crimson & Clover, Everyday People, Get Back, Honky Tonk Woman, I Can't Get Next to You, Suspicious Minds, Wedding Bell Blues, Come Together/Something, Nah Nah Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye, Leaving on a Jet Plane, and Someday We'll be Together. Unfortunately, the week I was born it was none of those. Mine was the "Love Theme From Romeo & Juliet" from Henry Mancini.
24/05/2015 @ 23:12:09: ElSaxo: What was the number-one-hit at the day you were born?
In my case, among the usual European dullness, which look like that only "Nothing compares to you" and "Get up before the night is over" were broadcast on radio, almost only Germany stand out (negatively) with "Pump ab das bier" https://youtu.be/eXm_z8XnNLk (which anyway is a cover of Get up) and I have to thanks that I was born a week before "Me so horny" topped the hits charts in Dutchland. Seriously, what's wrong with you Germanic people?
25/05/2015 @ 18:45:20: ingo: What was the number-one-hit at the day you were born?
Well, indeed there is a variety of German music - but it's questionable, what of it is shit, what is bearable and what really good. For me the very most stuff is in the first categories, but my taste is very widespread. Of course your examples are shit. I like trash, but then old stuff from the 70ies and not chavvy junk. Otherwise high-intellectual political chansons are unbearable either.
