What was the first car ever posted at IMCDb?
I find something about Bullit, but nothing was confirmed.

The one who originally created the site made a list from info found on internet.
I joined the project when he already had a few hundreds cars listed, maybe not many with pictures.
The first one for which I submitted pictures is Ronin (only the few main cars, at that time), so it is my first movie, and amongst the first pictures I suppose. But for example just before that, someone submitted the main car picture for Training Day. This is the start of the history of the site from my point of view

Assuming the vehicle ID is chronological for the early cars as well, then I assume it's http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1.html

Can't be this Mustang, it had be commented by the first time at 2007. The site exist since 2004.

Yes: the database structure has changed somewhere in 2005, the IDs are from then. So all cars with ID below 1000 or 2000 are not in real order.

 OK, the oldest comment belongs to the Charger in Bullitt.

Does sorting still apply to the cars with ID below ~2000? If you sort Bullitt cars by when they were added, http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_298-SAAB-Sedan-96-1965.html is first on the list.

I said 1000-2000, but it is probably more since that Charger was also in the original site.

The "added order" simply sorts by ID, so it does not work on these oldest cars; for Bullit it was originally listed with the two main cars + a few background ones found on car fan sites

I remember, that the mustang #1 has been a long time without picture..

Yes, you made a contest for that, adding pictures on lowest possible vehicle ID.
I quickly raised (or lowered?) the bar by completing pictures of "Banzai" which had quite low IDs. Then some time after modell completed the movie to which that Mustang belongs (an obscure movie, we all wonder how he found it). But I couldn't find the topic...

Hmm it was in admin section, hence why I didn't find it
Well, for admins: http://forum.imcdb.org/forum_topic-1309--let_s_play_.html
There I said that the "low ID = old" rule was true only since 6000 or 8000, not 2000 or 3000 like I said here.

Sorry but I think that I will win the game for some time
This evening I re-watch the movie "banzai": http://www.imcdb.org/movie_83618-Banzai.html
It has three cars without pictures (these were probably added after that I put few pictures long time ago, that got numbers in the 3000s, as all that was before the numbering as explained above). I wonder why these cars had so low numbers, but they are numbers 25, 26 & 27 :sol:
Only way to do better is to watch one of these two movies:
http://www.imcdb.org/movie_101345-And-the-Sea-Will-Tell.html
http://www.imcdb.org/movie_106930-The-Flood--Who-Will-Save-Our-Children.html

as they are both TV movies - impossible..

A few months later:

What happened to the page for And the Sea Will Tell?
20/01/2012 @ 10:32:18: antp: The first car in IMCDb
It might have been deleted when I was cleaning some old pages: sometimes when I find a movie page added very long time ago with a common car without picture nor any other info I delete it. If it is something like a Ford Crown Victoria listed without pic, role or info in a TV movie, it has not much value for the site for example
