China's VW Tharu will also be released in North America as the Tarek for 2020.

And probably the biggest news of all: for 2020 the first mass-produced Chinese cars will hit American soil: Chery begins its advance into Europe and America. I'm actually kind of hyped: if you ignore the QQ6, Cherys look like really solid cars. They've partnered with companies such as Bosch, Jaguar Land Rover and Daimler.

Slightly different from the usual entries in this thread but .......

"These 1990s cars will soon be legal on US roads"

Anticipate an avalanche of Skodas??

Holden officially killed off it's automobile lineup today, meaning it will no longer sell the Commodore sedan and wagon and Astra hatchbacks. It leaves one pickup and four SUVs in the lineup (Colorado/Acadia/Equinox/Trailblazer/Trax), though the Chevy Corvette will also be available. Should be no surprise given that those models are no longer made by GM anyway. We'll see how long Opel continues to make them now.

Slight mistake from my side. Chery doesn't seem to plan coming to America, but Zotye will, with their T600 crossover.

The Hino XL-Series (XL7 for class 7 models and XL8 for class 8 ones) is sold since June 2019 as 2020 model year, so some should soon appear in US and Canadian movies / series?
Like the Hino 600, the truck is apparently made only for the North American market, and is build in Hino's brand new plant in Mineral Wells, West Virginia.

Announced yesterday, the Peugeot Landtrek !

https://www.motor1.com/news/399648/2020-peugeot-landtrek-pickup-revealed/

It's a chinese pickup, dressed as a Peugeot, for Africa and South America. But one article announcing the news made reference to another "french" vehicle I wasn't aware of, the Renault Triber.

https://www.renault.co.in/vehicles/personal-cars/triber.html

It's been designed and built in India, and is exported to Indonesia and now South Africa.

Oh, and there's a new truck range at MAN for 2020.

[...] It's a chinese pickup, dressed as a Peugeot, for Africa [...]

Apparently the new trend for pickups at Peugeot, as the 2017 Pick Up has the same origins and a partially similar market

[...] the Renault Triber [...]

Like the Peugeot 5008 II compared to the 3008 II, the Triber sounds a lot like just a 7-seat Kwid.

It's a copy of the old Suzuki SX4 sedan.

The official press release is pure gold.

"April is the most beautiful month, in the morning of April 20, the first dispatch ceremony for Suda electric cars export to Germany was held in Henan Suda Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd. Trucks loaded with the first 200 SA01BC sedan, slowly leave the company and will be shipped from Tianjin Port To Dusseldorf, Norwich of Germany."

Is it really all-new ? It looks so similar to the previous one.

Lots of cars dying off. Today it's the Chevy Sonic in North America. Recently the Lincoln Continental and MKZ, the Dodge Journey, the Renault Espace and the Lexus GS have all been announced as ending. And it sounds like Nissan vans in North America are next.

that sounds like the 1996-97 killing spree that manufacturers did against the coupes ( Probe, T-Bird, RX-7, 300ZX to name a few ) ... :ohwell:

Yes, it looks a bit like a mashup between a Disco 3 and a Freelander.
