Hie I have bin trying to add new pictures for this site for weeks but every time a try the photo uploading says that the picture is way to be and it is the wrong kind of file so can someone please get a way less picky picture uploading system

The site accepts JPEG and PNG, these are the two most common image types.
It is quite easy to convert other formats to JPEG, e.g. with XnView or Irfanview.

Maybe but the site also keeps complaining that the file is way to big no matter how small the picture is

Don't forget to check the concerned checkbox. I don't know why the resizing is not automatic, as it often (always?) "eases" the uploading...

That option is normally checked by default
What is the message that you get exactly?
