The Trabants for Icelandic market have strange cockpit assemblings, specially last imports 1985-1987 (the very last sell was in 1988). Old model plastic steering wheel, pre `84 dashboard, but deluxe speedometer and deluxe gadget for low fuel indicator, seats with headrests but static seatbelts.
I am glad that this Trabant still exist, I think I saw it on Google Street View from 2013. If it is the same car, the ventilation panels are be made of aluminium and not black, so it is 1986 or 1985. Isn`t there any indentification plate in the engine section? It should be also a stamp with the month and the year of production at the panel, right from the gas tank.
