I finished renaming the major makes, and included them in the "automatic origin" function ( www.imcdb.org/temp/auto-origin.txt )
Still 1549 vehicles without countries, but "only" 656 that are not "unknown" make (i.e. the 900 others are unknown vehicle anyway, and will get a country when they will get a make).

In the oval-letters countries list, China seems to be missing...
I wanted to use it for this one:
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=32389
Or do we consider this as a Chinese car rather than a German one, though it seems to be just a license-built Jetta and not another car derivated from it.

Only 2513 vehicles left without country
To see these, two links:
http://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&origin=
http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?origin=
I also added links to easily see the car of "minorities", e.g. find the Chinese or Finnish cars, on the stats page:

Antoine: The sub class listing "chassis Cab" should be listed under trucks not cars. I cant think of a single application for a chassis cab in a car catagory.

The car/truck split is done with the european view of that (as the site was first made by French & Belgian members).
So you have to see "trucks" as "heavy trucks".
Here what we call a truck is something more than 3.5 ton, that requires a special driving license.
So in chassis-cab you find light tow trucks, small cube trucks (a cube posed on a chassis+cab), etc.
This was made because for us (F & B) these vehicles are in the same category than the cars, in weight, size and license requirement.
For the tax services, they are considered as "utility", but a hatchback without rear seats is considered the same.
I know that in USA the SUVs, pickups, etc. are considered as truck like is the semi-trailer tractor truck...
Heavy chassis-cab should be listed as "simply trucks". In French it is called "porteur" but I still have not found its real English equivalent.

For 'smart' not only the brand, but also the names are written in small letters. The only exception is 'Brabus', as this is a company name added to the car's name.

For model name it depends on the cases. I already saw it with uppercase even in official documents I think. But you are right: usually they use all lowercase. I am not sure that a case change can be done through SQL (as strings are case-insensitive for searches), I'll test. In the worse case I can do "Fortwo" -> "For2" -> "fortwo" to force the change

The final assembly is in Goodwood, Sussex. Therefore I would still call it British.
It gets more complicated with Bentley, as some models are (or shall be?) produced at the VW works in Dresden, next to the Phaeton. But on the web-side they make it clear that they are British: 'Our Vision'

For me the country of a make does not depend only on where it is built.
For me the Mexican VW Beetle are still a German car, as it was designed and first produced by VW Germany, and kept nearly unchanged for Mexico.

if possible written Škoda not Skoda

I'll see what I can do

Trabant DDR should be Sachsenring, after 1990 D

They still produced something after 1990 ?

VELAM F should be written in capital letters

Yes

Western Star USA & CDN

Two countries? Does it depend if it is a 1974 or a 1981?

I have edited about 300 makes and will leave the rest for other admins ... I shouldn't be so selfish ...

Thanks very much for your help
