My father is a big fan of Ricchi e Poveri. I'm not that much into it, though they have few decent songs. I was in their concert few years ago in Lake Garda, Italy. My father is also a big fan of Eros Ramazzotti. He listened his music already in the 1980's before he became a big name. Toto Cutugno is not familiar to me, I've heard the name few times but that's it.

well morricone is a class for himself but I think, that italian language is the most "singable" language of all and the song in italian are so melodic.. Anyway Ricchi e Poveri, Toto Cutugno etc. etc (italian classics from late 70s, early 80s )

Sure Italians have composed some of the best songs ever. Ennio Morricone, Claudio Baglione, Bobby Solo etc. How about you ?
