it's been a long since I've ridden in a Defender, but it's probably one of the most uncomfortable cars I've ever been in.
I did not test it, but I went in a Lada Niva, which is a very good offroader too (and the cheapest one). I hope for the Defender that it is more comfortable than the Niva

The Range Rover might be in fact just as good at offroading as the Defender (although I don't know for sure, I haven't read all the tests and stuff), it's probably got more technology in it, but the advantage of the Defender over the Range Rover is that it's the kind of car that could take a few dents, the Range Rover is more of a luxury car that you wouldn't want get to scratched not to mention all the complex gadgets and mechanisms that might end up getting damaged, unless you were so rich the cost of Range Rover meant little to you, so for that reason I think someone who need a real workhorse 4x4 would be better choosing the Defender, it's also about half the price of Range Rover. Although the downside of the Defender is that it's not very comfortable, it's very basic inside, it's been a long since I've ridden in a Defender, but it's probably one of the most uncomfortable cars I've ever been in. But then if I was a farmer or something I wouldn't care. If it's good enough for the British Army it's good enough for me.

Sadly, the Escalade was ruined.

All the tests about Range Rover usually put it as one of the best offroaders, with the Defender and some other ones. I do not remember ever having seen the H2 in these "top" lists (which does not mean that it is bad, it just means that it is not as good as the bests)

I think the Range Rover and Hummer H2 are both great off-roaders. I do not like these kind of Off-Road tests as they prove nothing. All vehicles have their Pros and Cons, what one vehicle may lack, the other one will make up for.

The stupid part is my Ford cost about the same as his Mercedes, so it wasn’t cheap (At least Fifty Grand is not cheap to me, might be to others though) and I don’t think a 2006 model constitutes as being "Old" in my book. So what if his vehile is one year newer, big whoop!

I'm not the biggest Ford fan myself, but I may get one for a car (rather I don't), but if I had a Mercedes and if my neighbor has a Ford I wouldn't go to their front door and say, "Isn't my Benz nicer than your cheap old Ford?" It wouldn't be my business on what my neighbor buys. Whatever makes them happy and satisfied.

hahaha...real estate agent with a Benz, what a shocker!
my partner is just getting into real estate....he drives my 7 year old Passat wagon.
did he mean the comment about the Ford as a joke? i would have said the same thing while i like some Fords, they just don't do much for me. Ever since I had my old BMW in collage I've been a big fan of German cars.....so I would have probably come home and made a comment like that.
