I drive a 2007 Cobalt LS.
1). Dash looks great but they should use the 2-tone theme on the door panels.
2). No compass
3). Rear seat latches are found in the trunk.
4). So is the battery
5). How come ABS is not optional on a base Cobalt but was standard on all Cavaliers from 1992-2002?
6). Cup holders block the climate controls.
7). How come alot of cars anymore don't have full gauges? My 1992 Cavalier had a guage for everything.
8). No center arm rest.

That's why you shouldn't drink and drive, you'll spill your drink!

You shouldn’t Spit and drive either ... Disgusting!!! I can’t stand other male drivers who "Chew" tobacco then spit out of their vehicles while waiting in traffic ... Yuck!!! :ovh:

I keep thinking one day, somone’s going to spit tobacco on the hood of my vehicle while I'm setting in traffic. :irked:

Last week I picked up my late grandpa's old truck, a light blue 1993 Chevrolet Cheyenne 2500 4x4, from storage. Its strictly a beach truck for our summer fishing work. Nonetheless, I was tempted to take it for a spin around North Road and the furthermost Northern part of Kenai (where very few cars are around). I've determined what I like and don't like about it. What I don't like;

-Extraordinarily truck-ish. Nothing about it is refined or comfortable. You have to apply a lot of effort and strength just to shift it (its a manual) or to turn the radio on. Not a fault with the car, it was just built that way.
-Manual transmission is hard to use. I like manuals, just not this one.
-Too many blind spots to count.
-You get the feeling that if you had to stop fast, you aren't going to stop fast. Or at all. Which is worrisome, what with reckless ATV and snowmobile drivers, moose and drunk drivers (who are a big problem in this area of Alaska).
-Handles like a '93 Chevy truck.

Its basically what you'd expect from a early 1990's GM truck. Which has its ups and downs.

Haha, my friends dad won somekinda design prize for that cup holder.

Well I certainly didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I admit that design of the holder is clever and is OK - its the placement of the thing that is dumb. If you have a full cup in it and have to stop fast or turn suddenly it will spill down all over the dash and radio and its a bitch to clean up if that happens. That is what I think is dumb.

Three things with my Saab 9-3:

1. it has a cup holder that folds out of the center of the dash - dumbest thing I ever saw.

Anyway, On my Kadett B it would be nice with more than 50 hp and a fifth gear. Seats that don't end in the middle of your back would be nice too.
Maybe a sunvisor for the passanger...

On my Volvo PV 544 you can't change gear to reverse if you're holding your hand on the knob, your hand will be in the way or you will get stuck under the steering wheel, hard to explain but something like that.

Gearbox is one of the common drawbacks on Peugeot

About comfortability i think i have nothing to moan about my 406, only thing i perhaps dont like is that the gear box feels "tough" sometimes you think oyuve sifted the gear but you actually has not and must "re-introduce" it, appart from that i think i like the car in all its terms, light turn on automatically which is comfortable, and the same for windscreen wipers, they automatically turn on when water drops start falling on the windscreen, about the rest of the interior i find it well designed, well one very small id like it to have and it does not, the possibility of lifting up the driver seat.

I can't remember many design niggles with my old Clio, apart from the fact it was generally cheap, old, slow and small (though this did make it easy to park). One thing about it was if you revved it a little bit you would hear this funny tooting noise coming from the engine, it wasn't too alarming and it wasn't a real problem, but I never worked out quite what it was, it must have been an airpipe or something. The worst thing about my car was that the battery would go flat rather quickly, there were times where I really wasn't using the car very much (which meant the engine wasn't recharging the battery enough), but it had an aftermarket burglar alarm and immobiliser (came with it when I bought it) I think this was too much of a drain on the battery, because my parents cars both had alarms and immobilisers but they never went flat, even if you left them for a week. Also that alarm was quite sensitive, so if a slightly noisy car went past the house (people in England don't always drive qently through streets) it would beep (like a little warning rather than the alarm going off). Whenever it was parked outside my parent's house, if my dad got his Harley out that would definetely set it off, soon I just stopped activating the alarm when I parked it at home, I would just lock it manually with the key.

My dad has a Seat Leon (the model before the newest one) and I really don't like that car, it's very boring but worst of all it has this stupid locking system, so whenever I go somewhere with my mum, she presses the button on the key, and I pull the passenger door handle but it doesn't open, so I have to remind to her to press it again so it unlocks the whole car rather than just the driver's door (she always forgets this, you know what mothers can be like at times), it's so annoying.

What I don't like about my 1989 Ford Tempo Sedan:
-It is probably the least cool vehicle Ford made in the 1980's, and it has zero respect to its name. Escort, Taurus, Mustang, Thunderbird, all of them had "bragging rights" with their names. Tempo had nothing. I don't mind this, but I wish it was a bit cooler.
-Instrument Backlighting is terrible, not only on my Tempo, but all Fords of that era. I am fairly certain its not a defect, just designed that way with weak bulbs. The end result is not being able to make out the clock, or other buttons.
-Odd controls. The radio's controls are too small and close together, the air/heat controls are gigantic, hard to push down and square/ugly.

About my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado LS 1500 4x4 (its not technically mine, but I drive it the most), it has very few design faults. The interior is the worst thing about it. Its ugly, truck-ish (although that doesn't bother me too much), and it has a feel of cheapness and low-quality. The engine revs a little too high in first gear (and seems to have a hard time shifting from first to second), but other then that, its a pretty good truck.
