Wow, congratulations taxiguy! I've wanted a LeBaron convertible since I was about 3 years old, and when I saw your car I got the feeling I really have to get one myself as soon as possible :bave: The problem is even the cheapest one I could find around here was 3390 euros (about 4850 USD according to Google) and I have nowhere near that much money. A convertible would probably be a bit cold in the winter here too :ohwell: I hope I at least get the money for a coupé before I get my driver's license next summer.

Congratulations taxiguy, it looks great. It seems Americans are really spoiled for choice, I couldn't get anything in close to that condition for less then 4000$. I'm so jealous

I don't know what my tires are rated for, but my car handles speed so poorly I'm uneasy going as fast as 120Km/h.

Sorry didn't mean to go on a tangent about my own car! It's nice taxiguy, I haven't really been in that many convertibles.
Neptune
My tires are rated "H" (capable of 130 mph or 210km/h) which is silly as
I'll never get that fast ...

I wish I could make decisions regarding getting new cars. It's so difficult for me to be completely pleased with something.

I feel like I can't match the rogue/rough look of the Montero. Even other Monteros of my year are no where near as satisfying as having one in gray/black. The 1st gen Nissan Patrol and old Land Rovers (not the Discovery) do it with flying colors but they're impossible to find in the US/outrageously expensive.

I've cherished my time with the Montero but I'm sure I'll have to go a different path in the future.

I'm so sick of seeing 100,000 Jeep Wranglers, Rubicons, Saharas (whatever other names they have) a day. They look like fun but there so damn common that it will drive me crazy, not to mention also being overpriced.

Indeed, it is probably because here all tires are "performance" version  (due to the fact that if the car could go at a speed, the tire has to be capable to, even if you do not go to that speed...)

On the pics on Ebay, is that rust on the rear left, at the bottom of the fender?

Yes, it is an extremely tiny spot and I mentioned it in the description. From a regular standing height you can't see it at all, I had to get down low to make it visible to the camera. The reason it is there is becuase that is the exact spot where the convertible top drains to, so obviously water is often concentrated there when it rains or gets a wash.

You mean swapped? i.e. left tire on the right and right tire on the left
Or isn't there a "running direction" on US tires like on EU tires?

No I mean literally reversed, they manufacture tires so that one side has whitewalls and the other is black, so that you can install them whichever way you want it too show. As far as the "running direction" I'm pretty sure that is not a thing done to "common" tires in the US (i.e. not performance versions) becuase unlike you hotrod Europeans we don't drive 130 MPH on the autobahn, but rather crawl down the highways in our Buicks at 65

@ford guy - To tell the truth finding a 1990s LeBaron in good condition is a not really a hard task at all. There are quite a few of them for sale in this area. In fact from my research I would estimate there's about the same amount of these LeBarons just here in mid-Michigan as there are 1984-86 Dodge 600 ES Turbos for sale in the entire world. To put it simply there was a good sized selection to choose from but this was the one that really tickled my fancy

As for the chase, it has now morphed from a yet-to-be-finished car chase into a never-to-be-finished car chase. But at least I got one made, that's certainly better than nothing. Maybe I can think up a whole new one with different cars for next time.

How will this affect your yet-to-be-finished car chase video?

The guy could steal a LeBaron to escape

I liked these LeBaron since I was kid

Ingo will be happy that you get rid of the 600

I think I'm going to have the tires reversed
