I was thinking of adding something like the make timeline on wikipedia articles

On IMPDb they have a category page for some aircraft a bit like what owlman is suggesting. I quite like the idea but wouldn't it be a bit difficult to implement?

I think some showrooms would be extremley large (just imagine ford, for example), but i would appreciate this idea. Maybe just a collection of thumbnails would do. If there are to many models of one make, one could limit the showroom only to older models, like 1890 - 1980 for example. I don't see any need to show actual models.

When clicking on a Make, I think it would be cool to have an option to show one photo of each model. Sort of like a manufacturer's showroom. E.g. for Morgan, there are 18 models listed. So, the Morgan "showroom" or whatever would have 18 pictures on it. Each picture could be chosen by an admin (best/clearest shot) or maybe just the highest starred photo available for that model.
I like to browse IMCDb to learn about autos, and I think it would be a helpful way to visualize all the models from a certain manufacturer.
I know IMCDb is not a car encyclopedia, and I can just click on every model and browse though all the photos, but anyway it's simply a suggestion
