By default it is checked, as in most of the cases it is not a problem: - if the picture fits the limits, it will be simply uploaded like before, without recompression - if the picture is too big, it will be automatically resized to the maximum allowed width or height - if the picture is too heavy or in PNG, it will be recompressed to 85% JPEG If the picture is recompressed, the message saying "Picture has been sent successfully" will be followed by "(picture was recompressed)". So you know if it was changed or just copied like before. If you really do not want that (I was thinking to G-MANN when I added that possibility), or if you prefer to see the error message of why it had to be resized/recompressed, you can simply uncheck the option and it will work like the old page. It will even remember in the cookies the state of the option so you do not have to uncheck it again the next time. Please report any bug or unusual behaviour that you notice on the site since this change.[/quote]

Opening it up on my iPhone gives me the new image, so it's probably a browser issue - but annoying all the same.

EDIT: yeah - clearing the log somehow helped.

EDIT_2: but only for the R21... for this Jetta, the old image still shows :kiki:

I see the same pic both times suggesting it has worked. Have you forgotten about F5 to refresh cache?

I have a problem. I would like to replace the mainpic of http://imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=962933 with http://pics.imcdb.org/4290/r21skl86.jpg - but whenever I do, I get a message saying "picture has been sent successfully", and it's the same old picture.

Yes that's because you block ads. Solution: unblock ads on IMCDb :whistle:

Problem is that it may also be blocked for other people then.
If you wish to "rename" them you can simply re-upload them under another name, the old ones will be deleted when I do the clean of unused files every few months.

Okay, bizarre idea... but might it have something to do with adblock?

I've noticed a bug (I think) - whenever I name a thumbnail 'ad', which I used to do for some Audis, they turn out invisible:

Now, I know the images exist, as when editing the comment and copying the filename of the image takes me to the image in question:

If the bug is not solvable, I might want to rename those concerned, as there aren't that many. I'm just interested in what might have caused this bug - as it's obviously something recent (I didn't notice when I posted the thumbs initially).

I included only those who had more than 1000 pics on the server
(many of those you upload are for replacement and so are deleted once used)

Note that it is not a competition :tongue:
