Indeed the Olds looks a lot like www.imcdb.org/vehicle_74444-Oldsmobile-88-1951.html.

Nice pictures
The dark car with a white top in the first picture is a 1951 or 1952 Oldsmobile Super 88. The car in the second picture is a 1955 Meteor Niagara.

Hello,
This post is about cars and art, but not precisely movies. However, the expertise of the IMCDB contributors would be much valuable for me. Noted street photographer Vivian Maier has made most of her photos in Chicago or New York City, but also in other parts of the world. Two of her published photos have been found to have been taken in Quebec City, as has been demonstrated convincingly by Blork, a blogger from Montreal. The first one is on rue du Roi (blog entry here) and the second one in côte de la Canoterie (the related blog entry). The year that these pictures were taken, however, is harder to determine. Maier is known to have traveled to Canada in 1951, but someone noted that the cars visible in the photos seem more recent than 1951, one being maybe as recent as 1959.
So, in your opinion, what is the earliest date that these photographs could have been taken? Here are the two pictures:
Thanks!
Claude
