Apparently the writers at Autocar don't know what a SUV is and thinks the term is synonymous with any 4WD vehicle.
Autocar has a mind of its own - it's trying to portray the latest grotesquely huge BMW grilles as innovative and bold, but wrestling with its inner turmoil that the M4 just can't be stomached, however much you try. So be gentle with their tortured souls.

In Germany actually there is a total bizarre discussion (one of several annoying medial hysterias) about SUV.
The very most people doesn't know the exact definition of SUV, but it's a synonyme of the worst, the pure evil thing in the world.
Of course SUV-drivers are the worst people on the world, those who are responsible for anything bad, whatever it is.
I'm really happy being a Durango-owner nowadays - it's incredible enjoyable to provoke all these woke morons up to finest hysterical tantrums.
