And as I said on the other thread you created, no need to create a new thread for that, missed comments are supposed to go to the "Non-unidentified" thread. But that's only for really missed ones, not those waiting for more confirmation from someone else more reliable, or those for which there isn't even a comment matching the info that you provide.
Usually those who post reliable info get it after some time
why we need the edit function.

A lot of those comments aren’t vetted.
We don’t just add a default year on an entry just to put a year on it. Normally an admin has to come along that is familiar with the vehicles to add a year or can atleast vet the listing.
Users with with bold names in black are banned so we would not trust them in most cases. Just because a comment was made so many years ago does it mean that we automatically update the entry. How do you know that those users are not guessing for just spamming the very first year of production which in many cases it’s not even entirely close to accurate?
We have gone through this issue before where certain users put a whole list of changes and then antp goes through add the changes. Then Me or another admin goes back through at some point in time only to find out that all of the comments are wrong or incorrect.
As said before if you think an entry is wrong post on that specific page and then an admin will look at it. If it is accurate the year will be added. If we don’t trust the user or have doubts then it stays without a year.
