Hi, Please can someone help me identify this movie, its been driving me crazy for years but recently i started having dreams about it and i MUST get a copy!!
Anyway - from what i remember the movie goes a bit like this:

Some guys building a prototype car, it looks a bit like a lamborghini from what i remember, and its nuclear powered (or something to that effect)anyway, a gang of youths break into the place where hes building it and steal it/ go joyriding etc, one of thems a woman and i think he either catches her or she feels bad about it or something and he ends up with her looking for it and probably sleeping with her.
Theres a scene in it where he drives his own car - a Porsche 911 in the rain, spins it and knocks the whale fin / spoiler / whatever off the back and asmashing it up a bit - i think he eventually finds his prototype and ends up with the girl (as you do in these situations) - anyway, if anyones got any ideas Please post them, its really doing my head in!!!!
Sorry if the descriptions a bit sketchy but im 25 and i thing i saw this at LEAST 15 years ago.

Almost sounds like "Corvette Summer" except for a few details. In that movie, a kid builds a really nice Corvette one-of in high school auto shop (not nuclear powered) and it gets stolen on it's maiden voyage. The kid becomes depressed and leads a crappy life until he learns that the car is in Vegas. He goes there with almost no money and makes friends with a prostitute-in-training. He then lives a crappy life in Vegas just trying to survive. He does find his car in the end and gets the girl. This movie was made in 1978.

Hi qwerty_86, Cheers for that, unfortunately, Corvette Summer it aint. Thats one of my favourite movies of all time along with No Mans Land (Charlie Sheen)and Vanishing Point (Goes without saying) and of course the original 2 Gone in 60 seconds.
What can i say, since i was a kid i've always loved the classics - especially the ones with nice motors in, but this ones got me totally stumped, i've searched every movie car website i can find and googled every possibility regarding how the car looked, movie details, the guys porsche getting wrecked,everything, im sure i cant be the only person to have seen/ remember this movie.
