For top gear,
2 stars = seen shortly or driven for only few seconds
3 stars = tested, driven for some time, or used in a challenge/game
4 stars = comes in more than 1 episode and/or in the centre of a important/long part of the episode (e.g. the convertible Renault Espace, the Lada tuned by Lotus, etc.)
