When I had my Clio I hardly ever washed it, I preferred to let the rain do that job It never got that dirty although a slight layer of grime (not very noticable) began to coat the car (which the rain doesn't get rid of), so my fingers would get dirty if I touched the bodywork. If I had a car I was actually proud of, then I'd wash it often. People don't seem to bother waxing their cars these days, because modern cars have paint that is already treated to protect it from the elements. My dad said it was something most people only used to do in the 60s (and maybe 70s), the days when cars actually needed working on at weekends.
