Most of the mass market cars built before the last ten years or so had a built in self destruct mechanism anyway, so they are really not much of a loss. I had a white Renault 20 that changed colour to brown at the rate of about 5mm per day.

The SD1 and the Maestro were cars with good design, totally let down by being thrown together by a demoralised work force led by a management who were bad at their jobs and pushed into even worse decisions by their idiot political masters.
