Ok, sorry to start up the SUV thing again but I just have to get this out...
What I don't underastand is why people who have an SUV (such as you Neptune) don't own another regular car for doing things from day to day (commute to work, grocery shopping, etc...) and just drive the SUV when they go on trips, go off-roading or need to carry more than 6 people? I suppose, in a way my family does this already. We have our Toyota Van, which is not exactly an SUV (though it does have 4WD!) but gets about the same gas mileage as an SUV (17/city 20/highway) and has about the same height and ground clearance as one (which are my main problems with such a vehicle), and we only drive that car when we go on trips. For around-the-town stuff and short trips we almost always use our regualar cars which get good mileage (20-25/city 25-30/highway)
Seems like a simple enough (and very economical) solution don't you think?
