@ingo: I would say the British truck industry is effectively dead. The Seddon-Atkinson brand is now owned by IVECO (via International Harvester & ENASA) and the service vehicles (such as refuse trucks) are now built in Spain; Foden fell to Paccar; ERF of course was bought out by MAN - for a while ERFs appeared with MAN cabs - and Leyland's truck division fell to DAF (the bus division went to Volvo). Volvos, Scanias and Mercedes-Benzes first appeared on our roads in the 60s, which pretty much sounded the death-knell for our truck industry.
