"slow for editing", you mean for opening an admin page and/or for saving?
There is no ad on these pages, so when these are slow it usually means that the server has a heavy load at that time, often caused by a lot of bots from Google and others that visit the site for indexing.
The heaviest operation amongst the basic ones for a database is doing updates/edits.
For the redirection, that's more annoying
I hope it won't happen more, as it is difficult to track the faulty ad (knowing which one of the two providers is the source, and even reporting it, as they may use a different intermediate site for the redirection)
The current main provider (Sovrn) is normally a "clean" one, as it is member of a group trying to separate good and bad ads, for making ad blockers that block only annoying ones (also what Chrome is planning to include in the future)
