As I understand the article, it's not the point, that Renault shall took over just Saab, now they must take the whole European "GM-packet", so Saab together with Opel and Vauxhall.

Some German politicans are talking about a national solution, so that VW, Mercedes and BMW shall buy Opel, but this is just an idea, about noone is thinking seriously about. The other brands aren't interesting (and had no money either).
