I love these little Camrys from 1987-1991, and still see quite a few of them around on the roads here in Southern California. However I'm still trying to find out all the differences in trim levels and subsequent details on these cars. I'm only interested in the sedans (not the wagons).
Some have standard black bumpers and side trim, while others are painted the same color as the rest of the car. At first I thought this was exclusive to either the DX or LE models, but I've seen both trims on different versions of the car. Another thing I can't figure out is that some versions also have the window frames painted the same color as the car too, while on other cars it's just black. Some also have chrome door handles while others do not. The only thing I'm sure of so far, is that the 1987-89 models can be distinguished from the 1990-91 models by the tail lights (which are simply inverted - amber/red). Also I think the side mirrors went more "aero" starting in 1989. But that's all I could figure out, internet searches revealed nothing for me.
So basically what I'm asking is for some help on knowing the differences from year-to-year on the second-generation Toyota Camry, as well as the differences between DX and LE models, and what the differences between V6 and V20 are(?). As one of these Camrys may end up being my next car, I'm doing all the research possible and could use your help. Thanks
