According to JMC's corporate site⁽¹⁾, the New Generation Transit name (not "New Transit"⁽²⁾) was indeed apparently used at the beginning to promote the 2008+ Ford-JMC equivalent of the (European) 3rd generation Ford Transit while the 2008+ JMC models using the old design were renamed Transit Classic (see the 1997 step in JMC's chronology⁽¹⁾, where the 1st generation Ford-JMC van is retro-named that way).

The "New Generation Transit" name was apparently wiped out at some time, as for now JMC's site shows:

• As JMC, the Touring/Teshun⁽³⁾, which replaced the Classic Transit in 2017:


As long as there's no indication about when the New Generation Transit regained the (just) Transit name , wouldn't it be safer to keep these vans as "just" Transit?
